Bodegas Habla is unlike any winery you’ll encounter in Spain: it’s new, it’s modern, it prides itself on substantial investments in research and development, it’s even somewhat iconoclastic. Habla is not interested in following the traditional rules and traditions of Spanish winemaking. First and foremost, Habla is about innovation.
Bodegas Habla began 15 years ago with a blank slate. Their original mission was to find the perfect location and terrain on which to base their forward-looking vision: to produce the “benchmark for the deluxe wine of the future.”
After exhaustive research and testing across all of Spain, they identified the perfect location just outside the city of Trujillo, in the Extremadura region. They built their winery right there in the vineyard itself and began growing and producing limited editions of wine, each series distinctively numbered and retired at the end of each season. Very focused, deliberate and precise.
Habla completed its first vintage in 2005. In 2008 they introduced their initial three wines, Numbers 1, 2 and 3, and in 2013 they finalized Number 10. In a very short time, Habla earned a reputation for cutting edge production technique and are becoming well known among critics as “avante-garde” for their distinctive style and sophistication.
