Upon tasting it, this wine will become an immediate favorite. The 2012 is exceptional. This dark purple, smoky, complex wine is composed of 60% Grenache, 20% Carinena, 15% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, there’s an intense blackberry top note, with underlying cassis and hints of tobacco. The palate shows powerful black fruits and dark cherries, with a surprisingly nice hint of spice
This is a densely packed wine that you can enjoy over an entire evening as it is young and seems to evolve in your glass for hours.
It’s a big full-bodied red with ripe black cherry and dark fruits with hints of licorice that has structured tannin grip giving it the ability to age for decades.
Celler Cecilio is located in Gratallops, in the heart of Priorat, and was the first winery registered in the Priorat wine region. It’s a family estate dedicated to wine since 1942, established and founded by Cecilio Vicent, father of the current owner and winemaker, August Vicent. The vineyards grow in 9 hectares of terraces on Priorat slopes, with very low yields.
