The 2012 Bodegas Eidosela comes from the tiny, cooler Condado de Tea region of Rias Baixas. It’s lighter bodied, with fresh and precise flavors of quince, blood orange, stone fruit, and salty minerals. It finishes with focused, tangy acidity that tightens the flavors in a compact, zippy package. A fantastic value.
Founded in 2003, Bodegas Eidosela is the brainchild of a small group of enterprising, like-minded local growers dedicated to producing their own, quality Rias Baixas wines. Bodegas Eidosela is located in the sub-zone Condado de Tea and has a total of 45 hectares of vines – Albariño, Treixadura and Loureiro. Each vineyard plot is owned by a member of the Bodegas’ co-operative and each owner-grower follows the production of the wine from the vineyard to the winery.
Bodegas Eidosela believes that the artisan product can be produced using the latest technology. Exacting care in the vineyard combined with optimally ripe grapes, stainless steel and temperature control produces well balanced, correct wines suitable for any palate.
90 Points – Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar:
Pale yellow. High-pitched aromas of lemon zest, white flowers and minerals. Dry, incisive and pure, offering dusty citrus fruit flavors along with a deeper pear nuance. Closes smooth and long, with lingering floral character and strong citrus bite.
