The Terreus is a single-vineyard red wine from the Paraje Cueva Baja vineyard made by Bodegas Mauro. It’s made from old Tempranillo vines planted in very loose soils rich in clay and sand, free from the use of herbicides and respecting as much as possible the assisting fauna and the natural reserves of the vines.
The harvest is carried out by hand and the grapes are collected in 15 kg boxes. After a thorough sorting at the winery the grapes are transported by gravity to the fermentation deposits (with their natural yeasts). The maceration lasts for two or three weeks and then the wine is put into French oak barrels where it ages for 33 months.
On the palate this wine is powerful, energetic and broad. It shows bulky attack and is clean on the palate, with fine and tasty tannins and a magnificent acidity. Long and very persistent finish.
Decant this wine a couple of hours before drinking.
